Payroll / Human Resource Administrator

The Webber Restaurant Group is seeking a Payroll/Human Resource Administrator to support our growing business. This position with be located primarily in Groton, MA with some travel to our other locations.

The Payroll/Human Resource Administrator is responsible for the company payroll process and human resource administration functions in a professional and knowledgeable manner. The Payroll/HR Administrator is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives. This role also serves as an auditor and administrator making sure that we are compliant with all on-boarding, payroll and benefits processes across the organization.

Benefit Administration

  • Benefit management and invoicing.
  • Track benefits eligibility and provide eligibility notifications to employees.
  • Process benefits elections/deductions in MassPay.

Payroll

  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Stays current on payroll system to achieve alignment with HR benefits and to ensure effective accounting support.
  • Reconcile deductions.
  • Process FICA shortfall on a quarterly basis for General Managers.
  • Facilitate the end of year audit for accountants.
  • Ensures new hire onboarding paperwork is completed prior to start date – I-9’s, W-4, wage forms, etc. ; updates documents in MassPay for compliance.
  • Conduct period end payroll and send results to Director of Human Resources and COO for review.
  • Prepares and sends out W-2’s at the end of each year.

HR Administration

  • May assist with entering payroll into QuickBooks.
  • Ensure record retention and filing procedures are properly followed at each entity.
  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company. Complete reports for management as requested.
  • Works with bookkeeper to process check requests, garnishments and tax payments, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.

Audits and Reporting

  • Coordinate and assist with ACA, ERISA, EFAST and benefits reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for Unemployment Insurance, Labor Bureau Statistics, etc.
  • Annual Massachusetts DUI audit.

Experience and skills

  • Associate Degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred.
  • Payroll experience required. MassPay experience a plus.
  • QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
